Beatriz Villarejo is a researcher. She has a PhD in Education from the University of Barcelona. Her lines of research focus on social inclusion and the democratic participation of vulnerable groups.

Albert Sarabia is a researcher. He has a master’s degree on Travel Journalism by the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

María José Recoder is a teacher and researcher. She has a PhD in Information Sciences (Journalism) from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She has been Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences UAB (2016-2021).

Cristina Ponte is a Professor at the NOVA University Lisbon. Her research areas are Media and Journalism studies, Children and Media, Media and Generations, and Digital Inclusion and Participation. In the OMEDIALITERACY project she is the Work Package 3 lead.

Hajo Boomgaarden is Professor of Methods in the Social Sciences with a focus on Text Analysis at the Department of Communication, University of Vienna. In the OMEDIALITERACY project he is responsible for dissemination, exploitation, and communication.

Jakob-Moritz Eberl is a Senior Scientist at the University of Vienna. His main research interests are the influences of media discourse and media bias on public opinion and political behavior. In the OMEDIALITERACY project he is responsible for dissemination, exploitation, and communication.

Ivar Vermeulen is an associate professor at the department of Communication Science at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, specializing in persuasion research. Most of his current research is experimental in nature and focuses on effects of misinformation and on the role of trust in persuasion and information processing. Other projects focus on methodological issues relating to measurement, conceptual analyses, and rigorous research practices. In the OMEDIALITERACY project he is the principal investigator of work package 1, which aims to generate an overview of the literature on disinformation, as well as on ways to counter it.

Ellen Droog is a postdoctoral researcher and teacher in the department of Communication Science at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Her research mainly focuses on the production, characteristics, processing and effects of ambiguous information such as misinformation, satirical news, and humor. In the OMEDIALITERACY project she is involved in work package 1, which aims to generate an overview of the literature on disinformation, as well as on ways to counter it.
